3 Common Types Security Cameras

There are wide varieties of security camera available in the market. But before you make a choice you will want to consider these 3 common types of security cameras, including: wireless camera, motion detection camera and hidden cameras.

Wireless Cameras
Wireless cameras have more flexibility, but broadcasts from other devices such as wireless Internet, cordless phones and baby monitors — can interrupt a wireless camera’s signal. Also, keep in mind that if you decide on a wireless system, there’s a possibility your video feeds could be intercepted by others. Having someone else monitor your activity around the house or finding out whether or not you’re at home defeats the purpose of having security cameras. If you’re worried about your personal security, you can check with the manufacturer to see whether or not they encrypt their wireless system.  Source: Electronics.howstuffworks

Motion Detection Cameras
Motion detection cameras can start recording – or start taking pictures – when they sense movement, so you don’t record hours of useless footage. Some motion detection cameras, like some pan and tilt cameras can lock in on a moving object and follow it. Source: Safewise

Hidden cameras
If you’re really trying to catch someone who’s up to no good, you don’t want them to know they’re being watched. These cameras are designed to look like something else (e.g. a passive infrared sensor or a smoke detector) so troublemakers are none the wiser. Source: CrutchField
